Who are the Diamond Riding Centre?

We had a wonderful time at the Diamond Riding Centre Showcase and, with the sun shining all day, it couldn't have been a better setting for such a special community event.

The Diamond Riding Centre does so much for our local community. Based in Carshalton, they provide opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to benefit from horse riding and other equine activities, helping to build confidence, independence, wellbeing and friendships. The positive impact they have on so many lives is truly inspiring, and it was fantastic to see their work being celebrated.

An Inspiring Day!

One of the most moving parts of the day was having the opportunity to watch some of the therapy riding sessions in action. Seeing the riders working with the horses and witnessing the confidence, joy and sense of achievement these sessions bring was incredibly powerful. It really brought home the difference the Diamond Riding Centre makes to the people and families it supports every day.

The showcase gave everyone the chance to come together, learn more about the centre, and enjoy a day filled with community spirit. Everywhere you looked there were smiling faces, people catching up with old friends, and others making new connections.

A particular highlight was the music from the Norwood Wind Ensemble, who provided a fantastic soundtrack to the day and added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. It was also lovely to spend time with our friends from Radio St Helier, as well as meet lots of new people who are passionate about supporting local organisations and the work they do.

"Firstly, I want to thank the DRC team for inviting me to attend their wonderful showcase. I am an animal lover through and through, and the benefits of having animals and social interaction around us can't be disputed. The work that the DRC do truly benefits so many, and it was a privilege to witness it first hand!"

A huge thank you to everyone at the Diamond Riding Centre for such a warm welcome and for organising a fantastic event. We left feeling inspired, grateful, and proud to have been part of such a positive day.

The dedication of the staff, volunteers and supporters was evident throughout the day, and it's easy to see why the centre means so much to so many people.

We can't wait to visit again.
