Jackie

I have always been interested in healthcare and volunteered as an event first aider with the British Red Cross.

My Grandparents had CareGivers as my Nan had Multiple sclerosis and was later
diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Having those Caregivers come in and look after Nan gave Grandad peace of mind that she was being looked after well and also gave him some space and time for himself.  This inspired me to follow a career within Visiting Home Care. I worked as a hands on Carer for 10 years supporting people of different ages and
abilities. I love enabling people to continue to do things for themselves and providing help where necessary. Furthering my career I became a Team leader and for the past 5 years supported my team of CareGivers as well as our Clients. I am now proud to be the Deputy Care Manager with Right at Home where I can continuing to follow my passion for enabling people to be as independent as possible, living in their own homes, with the reassurance of receiving outstanding care support.

I feel It’s so important that we’re thinking not only of the person for whom we’re providing care but their partner and/or family as well. Meeting our clients and their families and having a good rapport with them is very important to me. Having that good rapport helps build trust and allows them to feel comfortable and confident, that they can to talk to our team about anything.
