A Decade of Care: Stories from Our Community Journey
After toasting a happy 10-year anniversary with clients, staff and friends in December, Right at Home Havant & Petersfield is continuing to celebrate throughout 2026. We’re sharing stories and highlights from throughout the past decade.
Community has always been at the heart of the business. Since launching the business, Duncan has thrown himself into organising and taking part in local events alongside RAH clients – from dementia-friendly gardening and choirs to walking football, lawn bowls or supporting local festivals like Petersfield Dementia Day or the annual Christmas sing-along with the Havant dementia choir.

Community Care and Connection
In a recent interview with Right at Home’s national team, Duncan said: “I spend most of my working week running dementia activities with our clients and other community members. Seeing their enjoyment and improvement in wellbeing and cognitive function is fantastic.”
Being ingrained in the community helps RAH – and our clients – feel part of something bigger. No matter what their interests are, there are ways for them to get involved, connect with others and make friends.

Duncan continued: “I’m not viewed as a care company, but more Duncan – who owns a care company – who is really great to partner with and will help in the community.
I’ve fostered some great relationships, and many I see as my friends. But most of all, I do it because I love it. Call it a karma thing!”
