Anna Urwin

Hi, my name is Anna and I am the Registered Manager for Leeds North, Otley and Wetherby.

My first experience of the care industry was as an unpaid carer for my grandma who had Alzheimer’s. It was a privilege to be able to care for her for many years.  It was very hard work but incredibly rewarding.  After my grandma passed away, my grandad became quite frail, and eventually moved into a care home. The staff were lovely, and did great work, but I couldn’t help but feel that my grandad would have preferred to remain at home where he could have received more personal attention.

Consequently, I began thinking more and more about working in homecare, and as a result got a job as a Care Worker for a small domiciliary care company in Horsforth. I absolutely loved it – going home at the end of a shift knowing that you have made a real difference to somebody’s day is the best feeling in the world! I was very soon promoted to Care Co-ordinator, and after the Horsforth homecare company closed, I became a Registered Manager at another domiciliary business in Leeds.

My heart truly belongs in North Leeds and working in homecare is just the best job.  As a Yeadon resident, my children go to school in Rawdon and I spend a lot of time in Guiseley, Horsforth, Bramhope, Otley and the neighbouring area.  I am passionate about giving back to the local community that I love so much.  So, when Right at Home were looking to open an office in Horsforth - I applied!  Right at Home really know what is important in care – putting the Client first and delivering high quality person-centred care. Our aligned values of trust, quality, compassion and respect are in everything we do.
