Honouring Peter Powell with a Donation to Lymm Memorial Garden

At Right at Home Lymm and Warrington South, we're incredibly proud to be part of our local community, and we're always looking for meaningful ways to give back. That's why we were honoured to make a £500 donation to Lymm in Bloom for the Lymm Memorial Garden in memory of our much-loved former client, Peter Powell.
Our donation was made possible after we won the Super Duck at the 2025 Lymm Duck Race, receiving a £1,000 prize to donate to local charities. We chose to split the prize between two causes, each dedicated to the memory of two very special clients who meant a great deal to us. Alongside our donation to Oughtrington Luncheon Club in memory of Morag Smith, we wanted to celebrate Peter's remarkable legacy by supporting the memorial garden in the heart of the village he loved.
Peter was a familiar face throughout Lymm. As the town crier, he dedicated countless hours to supporting the local community and played an important role in many of the village's best-loved events, including Lymm Dickensian, Lymm May Queen, Lymm Transport Day and the Lymm Duck Race. Behind the scenes, he also worked tirelessly on numerous community projects, always giving his time to make Lymm an even better place to live.
It was a privilege for our team to care for Peter, and we wanted to honour him in a way that reflected the incredible contribution he made to the community. Our donation has funded additional planting within the Lymm Memorial Garden, creating an even more beautiful space for residents and visitors to enjoy while providing a lasting tribute to someone who touched so many lives.

We're delighted that our success at the 2025 Lymm Duck Race has enabled us to support two causes that are so close to our hearts. It's a privilege to remember both Peter and Morag in ways that continue to benefit the local community and celebrate the lives they lived.
