Personalise Homecare in South Cheshire Helped One Client Remain Independent at Homes

Helping a Client to Remain Independent at Home

Published: 18/09/2026

The begining

For many older people, staying in their own home for as long as possible is incredibly important. Familiar surroundings, established routines and independence can all contribute to a person's wellbeing and quality of life.

For Mrs R, several hospital admissions following falls led her family to become increasingly concerned about her safety. They wanted to find a homecare provider that could offer flexible support while respecting Mrs R's independence and wishes.

After researching several care providers, the family chose Right at Home South Cheshire. From the initial meeting, our team focused on listening to Mrs R and understanding what mattered to her, ensuring she remained at the centre of her care.

How Right at Home South Cheshire Supported Mrs R

Mrs R's care package initially began with just one weekly visit. As her needs changed, so did the support provided.

Visits increased to three times a week when she needed additional help with meals and household tasks. Over time, carers noticed that Mrs R was not always eating properly on days without support, so her care package was increased again to five days per week.

Carers provided practical assistance with preparing meals, laundry, changing bedding and household tasks, helping Mrs R remain comfortable and independent at home.

A consistent team of carers also helped build trust and confidence. As these relationships developed, Mrs R became more comfortable accepting additional support.

'I enjoy the daily visits from my carers. They look after me really well, always have a chat and a story to tell, and are always cheerful and positive'

The Impact of Personalised Care

Mrs R has been able to continue living in her own home while receiving the support she needs.

Regular care visits have helped reduce risks associated with falls, poor nutrition and missed medication, while also providing companionship and reassurance.

For Mrs R's family, knowing that a trusted team was visiting regularly provided valuable peace of mind and allowed them to remain involved in her care.

Her experience highlights the importance of flexible homecare in South Cheshire. As people's circumstances change, their care should be able to change with them.
