Introducing our New Registered Manager

We’re very excited to tell you all that we have hired a new Registered Manager here at Bridgend - our very own Vicky! Vicky's passion and experience stood above the rest, and we’re so glad to have her take on the role.

I sat down with her to have a chat about her new role.

How long have you been at Right At Home?

“I've been with Right At Home for three years and I've had a variety of roles. I came in as just admin, and I then progressed to admin and finance support, and more recently I took on the role of Recruitment, Onboarding & Finance Supervisor.”

Have you been a carer yourself as well? 

“I have worked in the social care sector for over 18 years.

I started off working for the local authority as a care assistant and then went on to the private sector working as a care coordinator, and then later on as a senior care coordinator. 

I've also been an NVQ assessor delivering qualifications levels 2, 3, 4 and 5.”

“For me it's all about delivering high quality care services to the vulnerable, about helping people and making a difference to their lives. I've worked in care as a care assistant and it's given me a real understanding of the importance of delivering compassionate care and person-centred care.”

What is the best thing about the role of RM?

“Making a positive difference to people's lives, getting to lead and develop the team and make them stronger by supporting them in their roles, creating a positive environment where people feel safe, respected, listened to and empowered to achieve their goals and outcomes.”

What are you looking forward to as our new RM?

“As the new registered manager I'm looking forward to building strong and positive relationships with the people we support and their families as well. I'm excited about the opportunity to bring my experience and leadership to the role and continuing to learn and develop professionally. I'm also looking forward to celebrating successes and ensuring that the people we support continue to achieve positive outcomes and have a positive and fulfilling life.”
