How we can help!

Published: 10/03/2022

At Right at Home, we feel a duty to help in any way we can!

As we watch the conflict in Ukraine, many of us will be wondering how we can help. Here's a little about what we are doing and your options to help make a difference.

We are collecting donated goods and will be dropping them off at different points. The aim is to collect as much good as possible!

We are collecting:

- Toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, soap, toothpaste etc)

- Baby Essentials (Baby food and formula, nappies of all ages and baby wipes)

- Sanitary and Feminine products

- Medical Equipment (first aid kits, medical tape, bandages, medical fluid and solution)

- New Thermal clothes (baby and adult, gloves, hats, scarfs, jumpers)

Any donations will be greatly appreciated, nothing is too small. Every donation will make a difference!

The drop off point is our Office and will be open Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm:

Right at Home, Falcon House, 19 Deer Park Lane, SW19 3UX.

How you can help!

Across the country, there are several businesses and charities pulling together to help. As well as donating goods, there are other ways you can make a difference.

Financial Donations:

If you can afford it financial donations can be the most effective way of supporting the people of Ukraine. The organisations listed below are taking donations, it's easy and simple; all done online.

British Red Cross: https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-crisis-appeal

Unicef: https://www.unicef.org/ukraine/en

Goods Donation:

If you are not local to us in Merton and want to donate, there are collection points set up all over London. Different points are collecting different things, so best to check beforehand.

White Eagle Club is a Polish venue in Balham accepting donations for those fleeing Ukraine.

The UCL School of Slavonic Studies is seeking donations of packing boxes for students collecting items for Ukrainian refugees.

Smith’s Farm Community Centre in Ealing has opened as an Emergency Medical Supply Drop off Centre to all who would like to donate.

In need of extra support?

The crisis in Ukraine is affecting people in ways we couldn’t anticipate or expect, we are in a time where what is happening is new to most of us in the UK and therefore can be a difficult situation to handle. Everyone needs to feel supported in this time. Below are local charities and organisations you can reach out to and gain some extra support or advice, or find out how you can help a little bit more in your area.

Kingston
