Gilbert Whites House & Gardens

Accompanying the elderly to Gilbert White's House & Oates Museum, located in Selborne, Hampshire, can be a deeply rewarding experience for several reasons. First and foremost, the historical and environmental significance of the site can be better appreciated with the guidance and support of a companion. For many elderly individuals, exploring the museum and its beautiful gardens may be physically challenging or overwhelming without assistance. A companion can ensure their safety, provide support in navigating uneven terrain, and offer a deeper understanding of the natural world, history, and the life of Gilbert White, a renowned naturalist and ornithologist. The elderly, with the help of a companion, can fully immerse themselves in the museum's educational offerings, for greater connection to nature and history.

Accompanying the elderly to Gilbert White's House can also be a means of promoting social engagement and combating isolation. Visiting the museum with a companion provides an opportunity for meaningful interaction and shared experiences. It encourages conversations about the environment, history, and science, which can be mentally stimulating and emotionally fulfilling. The companionship of family members, friends, or caregivers can alleviate any potential feelings of loneliness or isolation, contributing to the overall well-being of the elderly. Together, they can appreciate the beauty of the museum's surroundings, gain knowledge, and create lasting memories that enrich their lives.

Homecare.co.uk

Our home care services in Alton score an impressive 9.9 out of 10 on the UK’s leading home care review site, Homecare.co.uk.

“The team at Right at Home have been with us since around August/September 2022. The service has always been impeccable. The carers are the backbone of the company and they all go above and beyond for my mother and me. The pressure they have taken off us as a family is immense and we couldn?t be any more grateful, we have our life back to the best it can be, all because of the care team at Right at Home. I feel I can trust the team to provide care for my mother when I?m not around. I can go to work and leave the team to care for Mum and I 100% trust them, otherwise, I feel I couldn?t go to work. That?s very important to me and they provide the comfort for us to live as close to a normal life as possible.”  Jamie B (client).
