“A person, not a client”: Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley
Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley has been rated Outstanding overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), recognising the exceptional care, strong leadership and dedication of our team.
We were rated Outstanding for Caring and Well-led, and Good for Safe, Effective and Responsive, making us the only homecare provider in East Lancashire currently rated Outstanding overall.
This achievement reflects 15 years of building trusted relationships, supporting independence and helping local people enjoy a better quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
Personalised care and trusted relationships
Every person is different, and our care reflects that. Our Carers take the time to understand each Client’s routines, preferences, interests, life experiences and personal goals, shaping support around what matters most to them.
Wherever possible, Clients receive support from consistent Carers who know them well. These trusted relationships help our team recognise changes in their needs, respond thoughtfully and identify meaningful ways to support independence and wellbeing.
The CQC recognised this approach, stating:
“People were always treated with patience, kindness and compassion. Staff always respected their individualities and celebrated their achievements.”
One person also told inspectors:
“They always treat her with respect and affection, a person not a client.”
Whether someone needs companionship, help with daily routines, dementia care, respite care or more specialised support following an illness or hospital stay, Clients and their families are actively involved in shaping their care. Their wishes, choices and preferences remain at the heart of the support we provide.
“We are thrilled to have achieved an Outstanding rating, but for us, this isn’t about a certificate on the wall. It’s about the Client who feels more confident at home and the family who has peace of mind, knowing their loved one can keep doing what they love.”

Enriching lives beyond care
For 15 years, our work has extended beyond the front doors of our Clients’ homes. We believe growing older should never mean losing touch with the people, places and experiences that make life fulfilling.
Our free Golden Cinema screenings, lunch clubs and social outings bring older people together to enjoy shared interests, build friendships and feel part of their community. Through partnerships with local organisations and fundraising initiatives such as Macmillan Coffee Mornings, we create further opportunities for connection and involvement.
The CQC recognised our proactive partnership working and meaningful activities as a core strength, highlighting their positive impact on people’s quality of life.
Here when you need us
Our Outstanding CQC rating reflects the kindness, trusted relationships and dedication that underpin our care, alongside our team’s commitment to making a meaningful difference every day.
If you are considering care for yourself or a loved one, our friendly local team is here to listen, understand what matters to you and explore how we can help.
Investing in our Carers
Our Carers receive comprehensive training and ongoing professional development, including specialist dementia care training. We support them to build their skills, grow in confidence and progress within social care, equipping them to deliver consistently high standards of care.
The CQC particularly praised our support for staff wellbeing. Ensuring our Carers feel valued, listened to and supported helps them provide the reliable, compassionate care our Clients deserve.
Strong and supportive leadership
Our Outstanding rating for Well-led reflects a positive, supportive culture with high-quality, person-centred care at its heart.
The CQC described our leaders as visible, knowledgeable and supportive. Inspectors also recognised our effective oversight, strong safeguarding practices, safe medicines management and commitment to learning and improvement.
We actively welcome feedback from Clients, relatives, Carers and professional partners, using their experiences and insights to shape and strengthen our service.
