Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley joins local partners to support Dementia Adventure
On Friday 7 August, Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley brought the local community together for a special Big Green Picnic, raising awareness and funds for Dementia Adventure.
Hosted at Middleshaw Hills Care Home, the event was part of the summer-long Big Green Picnic initiative, delivered by Right at Home in partnership with Dementia Adventure. The afternoon was a celebration of community, connection and inclusion, with local residents, organisations and community partners coming together to enjoy music, dancing, food and friendship.

A partnership that made the day possible
Our partnership with Middleshaw Hills Care Home was at the heart of the event. The two organisations already work closely together through their monthly Golden Cinema, creating opportunities for people to come together and enjoy shared experiences.
Middleshaw Hills generously opened its doors to host The Big Green Picnic and played a huge part in making the afternoon a success. Their team provided the picnic refreshments and hydration station, as well as generously donating a selection of prizes for the fundraising raffle.
It was a fantastic example of how strong local partnerships can bring people together and create positive experiences within the community.

Music, dancing and community spirit
There was plenty of entertainment throughout the afternoon. Steve from Modern Mobility kept the music flowing, while George from Local Vocals delivered a fantastic live performance that had guests up dancing and singing along.
We were also delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of the Ribble Valley, who joined us to show their support for the event and Dementia Adventure.
Our fundraising raffle was another highlight, with prizes donated by local businesses and community partners including Beech's Butchers, Tesco Clitheroe in the Community, Middleshaw Hills Care Home, Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley and Modern Mobility.
The raffle helped raise valuable funds for Dementia Adventure and its work supporting people living with dementia to enjoy adventure, connection and the great outdoors.

Supporting our local community
For Right at Home East Lancashire & Ribble Valley, The Big Green Picnic was about much more than fundraising. It demonstrated our commitment to being an active part of the communities we serve and creating opportunities for people to connect, participate and enjoy meaningful experiences.
Through our partnerships with local businesses, charities, care homes and community organisations, we are continually looking for ways to bring people together and make a positive difference across East Lancashire and the Ribble Valley.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered and supported the event — and a special thank you to the Middleshaw Hills team for their hospitality, generosity and incredible support.
