Celebrating the Season & Supporting Headway — A Special Christmas Choir Concert

This festive season, Headway are thrilled to announce a very special event: on Saturday 29 November, St Peter’s Church, Petersfield will host “A Christmas Jingle: An Evening with Encore Choirs” — and for the first time, the choir will feature a performance by the Headway Choir, a group of people with acquired brain injury.

Among the performers is Mr WA, who will lend his voice to this meaningful celebration has been recovering from a traumatic brain injury.

Why This Concert Matters

  • Music as a bridge: For many people living with acquired brain injury, social isolation and changes in life after injury can be deeply challenging. Headway’s mission has always been about support, community, and helping individuals rebuild their lives with dignity.

  • First-time performance: This is the first time the Headway Choir will join the Encore Choirs’ seasonal concert at St Peter’s. That makes this concert not only a musical delight — but an important milestone in promoting inclusion, awareness, and celebrating the voices of Headway members.

  • Community coming together: About 100 singers will take part in the evening, sharing festive songs and popular hits. It’s a night about unity, hope and the joy of music — bringing together choir members, supporters, families, and the wider Petersfield community.

What to Expect

  • A mix of festive carols and popular songs — spreading Christmas cheer and warmth.

  • Inspiring performances from a diverse group of singers, including those supported by Headway — showing that music, inclusion and community belonging truly go hand in hand.

  • A chance to support Headway’s work: as well as providing a wonderful evening out, the concert helps raise awareness (and hopefully funds) for the charity’s ongoing mission: helping people with brain injuries and their loved ones.

What It Means for Mr WA & Others

For Mr WA — and for everyone in the Headway Choir — this concert represents more than just music. It’s a moment of connection, belonging, and recognition. Performing alongside other choir members and community singers is a powerful reminder: brain injury doesn’t define worth. Talent, courage, and heart do.

For supporters of Headway, the concert provides an opportunity to see the human side of recovery — to witness resilience and the transformative power of community and music.
