A Lovely Day at Our Christmas Lunch

Our annual Christmas lunch for clients was one of those days that stays with you long after it’s over. It was warm, relaxed, full of laughter, and exactly what we hope for at this time of year.

We were so pleased to welcome everyone to Portchester Methodist Church Hall, which was the perfect setting for the day. With a brilliant turnout, the hall quickly filled with friendly faces, festive chatter, and the comforting buzz that comes from people enjoying good food and good company. There were so many lovely conversations around the table — moments of connection that really remind us what Christmas is all about.

A huge highlight of the afternoon was the wonderful Soberton Strummers, whose ukulele music brought so much joy into the room. Their songs had people smiling, laughing, and tapping along, and they created such a happy, festive atmosphere. We’re so grateful to them for sharing their time and talent with us 🎶

We also owe a massive thank you to Adrian from the Portchester Community Association, who cooked a full Christmas lunch and dessert for over 35 people. It was an incredible effort, and the food was absolutely delicious — generous, comforting, and clearly made with care. Our clients loved it, and so did we.

Days like this don’t happen without a lot of support behind the scenes, and we’re so thankful to our amazing team. Suzy, Sarah B, Nicky, Joedy, Chloe, Amber, Angela and Zharita all took time out of their day to help escort clients, sit with them, and make sure everyone felt comfortable and included. Their kindness and dedication shone throughout the afternoon.

A special thank you also goes to Emma, who organised the event and pulled everything together so smoothly, and to Madeline, who organised the lovely Christmas presents for our clients — such a thoughtful touch that made the day even more special.

Days like this remind us why we do what we do. They’re about community, care, connection, and sharing moments that matter. It was a really special afternoon, filled with warmth, gratitude, and a little bit of Christmas magic.
