What to choose:  Live-In Care or Care Home?

As a major contender for care in later life, Care Homes are considered veterans in the industry, they are well established and the favoured option. However Live-in Care is relatively new to the game, but surging in popularity with the premise that all care and support occurs within the home.
Considering both options, Residential Care Homes and Live-in Care offer ‘around the clock’, professional and specialist support. So, when looking for extra support for your loved ones, it can be difficult to choose.

The down-falls of a Care Home

It is never an easy decision to decide to remove your loved ones from their home and into a Care Home. For one, it can be a massive, often disruptive change, particularly along with the presupposed stigma of Care Homes. We understand it can be a daunting time – for everyone involved.
You may fear your loved one’s condition could deteriorate, they may lack independence, and their emotional needs may not be met. Maybe your loved one has a partner whom you don’t want to separate them from, or pets who cannot move into a care home with them?
Moving care homes can be a sad reality of growing old, but it doesn’t have to be.
Live-in Care could be the option for you.

Home is where the heart is

Dorothy’s mantra: ‘There’s no place like home,’ applies outside of Oz too. Despite any stress on the outside world, your home can provide a sanctuary and a safe place of familiarity and comfort. There is no place quite like it. Your memories are treasured there and is a place where you can remain the most independent. So, where better to have further support than your own home?
