We had a great time hosting the first Food of All Cultures event with all our Carers

Enjoying Delicious Food with Our Care Professionals
At Right at Home Wimbledon, Putney and Kingston, our team recently came together to celebrate the many cultures that make up our care family.
The idea came from one of our Carers, who suggested organising a gathering where everyone could cook and share a traditional dish from their home country. It was a simple idea, but it brought everyone together in a really meaningful way.
The evening was filled with a wide variety of dishes, including jollof rice, okra soup, lasagne, sushi, Irish stew, chicken biryani, fried plantains, Welsh cakes, cinnamon biscuits, and more. It was a great opportunity to learn about each other’s backgrounds and enjoy food from around the world.

Alongside the food, we held a quiz, with Ada and Aparna winning Easter eggs. We also presented GEM Awards to recognise the commitment and hard work our Carers show every day in supporting our Clients. In addition, we celebrated team anniversaries, recognising colleagues who have been with us from one year through to ten years of service.
The event also gave us time to come together as a team to talk about our values, our goals, and the direction of the business, as well as opportunities for ongoing learning and development. Supporting our team to grow in their roles remains an important focus, including access to further training and qualifications such as the Level 3, 4, and 5 Diplomas in Health and Social Care.
Events like this are a reminder of how important it is for people to feel valued and included. Bringing people together in this way helps to build strong relationships across the team, which is reflected in the care we provide to our Clients every day.
