Willington Friday Club member Angela Bailey recently organised a charity day to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now, following her daughter’s diagnosis.
Having previously experienced breast cancer herself, Angela wanted to use the occasion to raise awareness in the local community while supporting a charity that is close to her heart.

Hereditary Diagnosis
The event was inspired by Angela’s daughter being diagnosed with breast cancer. Having previously been diagnosed herself, Angela understands first-hand the impact that breast cancer can have on individuals and their families.
Wanting to turn a difficult experience into something positive, Angela decided it was the perfect opportunity to bring people together, raise awareness and support an important cause that is close to her heart.
The charity day gave members of the local community the chance to come along, get involved and show their support for Breast Cancer Now. It was also a great opportunity to encourage conversations around breast cancer and the importance of awareness.
Angela’s efforts highlight the difference that individuals can make within their communities, particularly when they use their own experiences to help others.
