Helping Build a More Dementia Friendly Horsforth
At Right at Home North Leeds, Otley and Horsforth we are passionate about supporting people living with dementia and helping create more dementia-friendly communities across Horsforth, Leeds and Otley.
Next Wednesday, we are hosting a FREE Dementia Friends Information Session at our Horsforth office, led by Phil, a trained Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends Ambassador.
Phil is actively involved in supporting dementia awareness locally and sits on the Dementia Friendly Horsforth committee alongside Rachel, Owner and Managing Director of Right at Home North Leeds, and Anna, the Registered Manager.
Following fantastic feedback from our previous session and continued local interest, we are pleased to be offering this Dementia Friends Information Session for a second time.
The session is designed to help people better understand dementia, the different types including Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia and how it affects individuals differently. In addition to the small actions we can all take to make a positive difference.

What is Dementia Friends?
Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative that aims to change the way people think, act and talk about dementia.
During the session, attendees will learn:
- The key facts about dementia
- Common challenges faced by people living with dementia
- Practical ways to support someone with dementia
- How communities can become more dementia friendly
The session is informal, welcoming and open to anyone interested in learning more - this may include family carers, local businesses, healthcare professionals and members of the local community in Horsforth, Rawdon, Yeadon, Adel or beyond.

Dementia Friends Information Session - Booking Details
This Dementia Friends event is free to attend, but with only a handful of places remaining, advance booking is essential:
- Right at Home North Leeds Office, Broadgate Lane, Horsforth, Leeds, LS18 4BX
- Wednesday 3rd June 2026
- 2pm (expected duration 1 hour)
Please note:
- The session will take place upstairs at our office
- Access is via a steep staircase
- Unfortunately, this may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
