EastEnders star surprises RaH Borehamwood team at their expansion celebrations

Eastenders star Lorraine Stanley joined the Mayor of Hertsmere to salute an ‘inspirational’ team of community CareGivers, for their work helping local people to enjoy living independently in the Borehamwood and Watford area. 

Mayor Chris Myers and Councillor Alpha Collins showed their support as local homecare provider, Right at Home, opened a new office on Aycliffe Road in Borehamwood.

​Owner and Managing Director, Jenny Madgachian, had invited her Clients, CareGivers, and neighbouring businesses and local residents to attend the celebratory event.

She also asked Lorraine, who plays Karen Taylor in Eastenders, if she would surprise the team by popping down from the BBC’s nearby Elstree studios, to cut the ribbon and declare their new premises officially open.

Right at Home Borehamwood and Watford provides highly personalised care services for older people and adults living with disabilities. They have moved from their office on Shenley Road in Borehamwood, to a larger space that will accommodate the growing demand for their services.

The homecare provider is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, which is the highest rating a health and social care service in England can receive. 

Mayor Chris Myers said afterwards: “This incredible company, which goes above and beyond the call of duty, to enable elderly and vulnerable residents in Hertsmere to stay living in their own home, is truly inspirational.

“I am certain they’ll continue going from strength to strength. Many of their clients were in attendance at this event. The love they have for Jenny and her team is absolutely wonderful!”
