Right at Home Franchisee takes home prestigious award!

Published: 12/05/2018

Despite opening her Right at Home franchise just over 12 months ago, on Tuesday 15th May, Julie Houston took home the New Woman Franchisee of The Year Award at the NatWest Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) Awards in Central London.

In the short time Julie Houston has been with the Right at Home network, she has already made a substantial impact within the Right at Home network and her local area in North Cheshire.

Right at Home franchisees share a collective desire to improve the quality of life for our Clients and their families, by offering high-quality homecare. Julie epitomises these values, even to the point where she has ensured her local CareGiver team are as passionate as she is about their Client-centric approach to homecare.

 Wowing the judges
Over the last 12 months, Julie has worked tirelessly, and her work has not gone unnoticed. Having been nominated by the Right at Home National Office earlier this year, Julie beat the competition to win the EWIF New Woman Franchisee Award, sponsored by NatWest.

The EWIF judges were impressed by all she had achieved in her first year with the support of the Right at Home National Office. As part of her award-winning entry, Julie demonstrated how she had made her local Right at Home office a fun and inclusive place for her staff to work.

Unlike many care companies in the UK, Julie ensured her team are paid well above the minimum wage, with opportunities for them to achieve the qualifications needed, should they choose to progress through the business. One team member has already been promoted to become Care Team Co-ordinator within her office.

Julie initiated an open-door policy, at her North Cheshire business, where carers are encouraged to drop into the office for a cup of coffee or a natter whenever they need to. She has also appointed an ambassador for the care team, who is able to relay anonymous feedback from the rest of the team, on how they could be doing things better.

"I thoroughly enjoy my Right at Home business and winning this award has been the icing on the cake for a very successful year, so far!"

"Whilst growth and profitability are important, Julie was determined these would come from carrying the spirit of Right at Home’s values right through her company. She cannot be applauded enough for being named the New Woman Franchisee of the Year 2018.”"
