Strengthening Our Network Through Exceptional Training for Owners and Managers
Published: 10/02/2026
We’re excited to have kick-started the year with the appointment of a new Learning & Development Manager, who has already been busy delivering top-quality training to owners and managers across the network.
Sara Stirrup joins us with over 25 years’ experience in postgraduate training, having worked as a Lecturer at various universities and colleges in the North West of England.
Her new position will see her oversee the delivery of Right at Home’s accredited in-house training programmes and ensuring owners and managers have the knowledge and tools they need to upskill Carers within their local offices.
Sharing her excitement for the role, Sara says: “I am passionate about quality education and committed to delivering the best possible training and support to our franchise teams. I hope that my experience and expertise will prove to be highly valuable to the Right at Home network.”
New Owner Induction
So far, Sara has been involved in facilitating the delivery of our RightStart training to the new owners of Right at Home Maidstone.
Izhar Qureshi, supported by his sister Ayesha, is working with our team to find a great Care Manager and preparing to open his new office in Kent.
Explaining their reasons for joining the Right at Home network, Izhar says: “We grew up in a close-knit family where caring for loved ones was part of everyday life, so we know first-hand the standard of care we would want for our own relatives, and the values we would expect from a care team."
Like all new Right at Home Franchise Owners, Izhar spent 10 days at National Office learning the management aspects of the business model, spending time with experts from all departments of our support team, from marketing to compliance.
The programme gives trainees crucial information about how the business operates and their new responsibilities in each area. But these sessions are only the beginning – once a new office has started trading, owners receive for more training – this time of an operational nature.
Commenting on how he’s found the training so far, he says:
“The training has been extremely professional, and we now feel clear and confident about how we’ll drive the business forward. Returning to National Office has also been a real highlight - the positive culture there has reinforced our belief that Right at Home is the right fit for us.”
"There is still a lot to learn, but every day brings new insights, and the support from National Office and other owners in the network has been invaluable.
“We’re leaving with a strong grasp of the areas we’ve covered and the reassurance of having a supportive team behind us who will always be on hand to answer any questions we have.”
Train the Trainer workshop
Also in January, our new Learning & Development Manager led a successful ‘Train the Trainer’ (TtT) workshop in Basingstoke, alongside our Head of Workforce Development, David O’Brien.
This award-winning programme is designed to equip managers and Senior Carers with the tools, knowledge and confidence they need to deliver essential training to their teams. Our investment in this programme ensures that every Right at Home office delivers the utmost quality of care to their Clients.
The latest TtT session saw more than 20 trainees enjoy a full day of interactive, collaborative learning, as well as a few well-earned refreshments!
Attendees went away feeling motivated and energised to put their new skills into practice.
Franchise Owner Mahi Shettiar, owner of Right at Home Hillingdon & Uxbridge, said: “The Train the Trainer session was informative and supportive, and I came out very confident in my ability to deliver training to a high standard. The content was clear, well-structured, and reinforced consistency while allowing trainers to draw on their own experience.”
By investing in high-quality training and shared learning, we’re giving our owners and managers the confidence, skills, and support they need to succeed — and to make a meaningful difference every day.
