At Right at Home, we’re passionate about making a difference everyday which is why we offer additional training and talks to our community. From gaining valuable insight through our Dementia Experience to one-to-one family training and guidance on careers in care, this section provides extra information and awareness around homecare - whether you're caring for a loved one or exploring a career in the care sector, we're here to help!
Our Community Relations Manager, Jenny, also provides talks to local communities about what Homecare is and the positive impact it has on those needing some extra support to allow individuals to remain comfortable at home, but more importantly, independently. Similar to this, Jenny also does talks around Dementia and the strategies associated on how you can help with loved ones.

The Dementia Experience
So, what is the Dementia Experience?
Our unique and immersive Dementia Experience offers a powerful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of what it’s like to live with dementia. Led by our experienced Dementia Champion, Adriana, this session highlights the challenges faced by those living with Dementia - it’s an eye-opening experience, ideal for family members, loved ones, or anyone considering a career in care.
One-to-One Family Training:
We understand that providing care can be both rewarding and challenging, that’s why we offer personalised training sessions to support families with practical guidance and emotional support.
Delivered by one of our dedicated and experienced team members, these sessions take place in the comfort of your own home and are tailored to your specific needs. We'll walk you through equipment use, address concerns about your loved one’s health, and answer any questions you may have.
We currently offer one-to-one training on:
- Continence Care - Personalised information around continence care, to ensure the correct use of equipment and how to support your loved one both physically and mentally.
- Moving and Handling - Training on the correct handling of equipment used to support your loved ones mobility, lifting, and handling.
- Understanding Dementia - Personalised advice to address any issues or questions regarding dementia care for your loved one, and useful techniques to put into practice.
Community Talks:
If you've never considered homecare as an option, or if you simply want to learn more about it and how Right at Home specialises in dementia care - our Community Relations Manager, Jenny, delivers insightful talks to community groups. In her presentations, Jenny explains how Right at Home can help and how we strive to make a difference every day. She offers two specialist talks focused on Homecare and Dementia Strategies. Below, you’ll find a more detailed overview of what Jenny covers in each session.
Dementia and Strategies Talk:
- An introduction to the common types of Dementia and how they affect the brain.
- An insight into how an individual living with Dementia might be feeling.
- Use techniques to put into practice when supporting those living with Dementia.
- How to communicate with those living with Dementia.

Careers In Care:
At Right at Home, we're always looking for compassionate, hard-working individuals to join our dedicated team of CareGivers and help us support our local community - which is why we are more than happy to attend careers fairs, visit schools and colleges, and speak directly with potential candidates.
