The Right at Home Annual Conference
On Tuesday 15th September, our Managing Director Joe Guishard headed up to Carden Park in Cheshire to join the annual Right at Home UK’s conference.
The event marked Right at Home’s 15th year providing exceptional care and reflected on the journey we’ve made so far.
Over the two days, the conference held inspiring talks, took the time to celebrate our achievements, and even partook in a bit of charity fundraising.
More than 30 people from Right at Home staff across the country fundraised money for Dementia Adventure in return for taking part in a daring firewalk. Dementia Adventure is Right at Home’s partner charity and aims to help people with dementia and their carers to enjoy the outdoors.
Before stepping onto the coals, the walkers took part in a briefing and preparation session with the fire walk instructors, then crossed the fire path barefoot as colleagues cheered them on. There were definitely a few nerves beforehand, but once those first steps had been taken and the adrenaline kicked in and it became an incredible experience.

“It was one of those moments where you look at the fire in front of you and wonder why on earth you agreed to do it! There were plenty of nerves, but the atmosphere and support on the night were brilliant.
“Most importantly, we were doing it for Dementia Adventure and the fantastic work they do to help people living with dementia continue to experience meaningful activities, adventures and time with the people they love. Supporting people to live well and enjoy the best possible quality of life is something that means a great deal to all of us at Right at Home, so it was a privilege to play our small part – even if it did mean walking barefoot over burning coals!”

Celebration Awards
Thanks to Joe’s brave endeavour, Right at Home Cardiff & Newport were able to raise £300 for Dementia Adventure.
Following the firewalk, the conference held their annual awards, in which Joe took home the 'Annual Multi Sales Territory of the Year' award last week at the Right at Home Awards for the Cardiff & Newport and Bridgend & Vale of Glamorgan offices!
This recognition reflects the hard work of our teams across both businesses. Every person who helps us welcome new clients, support our CareGivers and deliver care in our communities has played a part.
Joe said 'For me, this award isn’t really about a number or a sales target. It represents the people I’ve had the privilege of meeting, the families who have trusted me, and the difference that we’ve been able to make in people’s everyday lives.'
