A Magic Moment: Mary's Return to Bushy Park

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments come from revisiting places we love. During an early visit with Mary, her Carer, Sylwia, discovered how much she enjoyed talking about Bushy Park - somewhere she had not been for a long time.

Remembering how fondly Mary spoke about the park, they decided to make her wish a reality. When sunshine arrived in early October, it was the perfect opportunity to help Mary return to a place filled with happy memories.

Mary was delighted to hear about the planned outing. By using her rollator walker, she was supported safely into the car  before setting off for Bushy Park. On arrival, Mary enjoyed seeing the deer and taking in the beautiful surroundings - they enjoyed a slice of banana cake together and shared a laugh when they spotted so many birds outside the window that reminded them of a Hitchcock film. 

Mary and Sylwia then walked to the peaceful gardens, taking their time and enjoying the autumn scenery around them at a comfortable pace. Throughout the day, Sylwia supported Mary's mobility to make sure she was safe and comfortable, without taking away her independence. 

On the way home, Mary reflected on the many special memories she had of Bushy Park, sharing how their day together had created another lovely memory to treasure.
