We’re pleased to announce our upcoming Carers Expo, taking place at Braywick Leisure Centre on 12th June, 10am–2pm, delivered in collaboration with Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) and Leisure Focus.
Held as part of Carers Week, this event sits within a wider programme of activities and events hosted by RBWM throughout the week, all designed to recognise, support, and celebrate Carers across our community.
The Carers Expo is a free, welcoming space for Carers to access practical advice, connect with local services, and take time for learning and wellbeing.
What to Expect on the Day
Moving & Handling Training
Delivered by Right at Home Maidenhead, Marlow & Henley, this practical session will help Carers gain confidence and develop safe techniques they can use in everyday care situations.
Training Session: 11:30am – 12:00pm
Occupational Therapy – Supporting Independence at Home
Learn how small changes can make a big difference to daily life.
We’ll be joined by Therapies on Thames, who will be sharing how Home Visit Occupational Therapists can help people remain independent for longer and continue doing the activities that matter most.
Occupational Therapy Session: 12:00pm – 12:30pm
Kick Off with a Verse – Sharing the Carers Experience
A creative and reflective session led by Karin De Novellis, using poetry as a way to explore and express the realities of caregiving. Participants will be invited to find their own words to share and reflect on their experiences.
Session Time: 1:00pm – 1:30pm
Your Support Network & Wellbeing Space
Information Hub – Your Local Support Network
Throughout the day, explore our Information Hub, featuring a wide range of stalls from:
- Local charities
- Council services
- Community organisations
- Support groups
These organisations will be available to help you understand your rights, explore available resources and connect with the support that’s right for you.
Free Refreshments
We know how important it is for Carers to have time to pause and recharge. Enjoy a selection of free hot drinks and snacks throughout the day in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
