BCA Care Awards Finalist Announcement!

At Right at Home Maidenhead, Marlow & Henley, our mission has always been to provide more than just a service; we aim to provide heart, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Today, we are bursting with pride to announce that two of our incredible team members have been named finalists for the prestigious Berkshire Care Association Care Awards!

The glitz and glamour will take place at the Windsor Racecourse on the 14th of May, where the best in the sector will gather to celebrate excellence. We are thrilled that the dedication of our very own Mamichu and Naveed is being recognised on this grand stage.

The Home Care Worker Award Finalist: Mamichu

"Recognising home care workers who go above and beyond to deliver high-quality, personalised care."

Mamichu is the definition of a "people person." She doesn’t just assist with daily tasks; she builds bridges. One of the most touching examples of Mamichu’s impact involves a Client who was initially very resistant to the idea of having care at home.

Through sheer patience and empathy, Mamichu didn't "force" a routine. Instead, she listened. She worked at the Client’s pace until a foundation of trust was built. Today, that same Client describes Mamichu as “more like a family member than a Carer.” From her meticulous care notes to the way she encourages Clients to rediscover old hobbies, Mamichu ensures that every person she supports feels safe, seen and valued. Her colleagues see her as a role model, and families frequently refer to her as an "angel." We couldn't agree more!

The Promoting Wellbeing Award Finalist: Naveed Amjad

"For individuals delivering creative, inclusive activities that enhance engagement and wellbeing."

Naveed understands that wellbeing is about much more than just safety and routine, it’s about joy. He works tirelessly to help our Clients feel like themselves again, regardless of the physical challenges they may face.

A standout moment in Naveed’s journey involved a Client who had suffered a serious stroke. The Client deeply missed swimming but felt it was no longer possible. Naveed refused to see "impossibility." He researched accessible pools with hoists, coordinated transport, and got his Client back into the water for the first time in years.

Whether it’s a trip to the seaside in our mobility vehicle or helping a new Carer understand that wellbeing is the "why" behind everything we do, Naveed’s energy is infectious. He doesn't just provide care; he restores a sense of purpose and adventure to those he supports.

Join Us in Wishing Them Luck!

Being shortlisted is a massive achievement in itself. It serves as a testament to the culture of excellence and compassion we strive for every day at Right at Home.

We want to say a huge "Congratulations" to Mamichu and Naveed. Regardless of the results on the 14th of May, you are already winners in our eyes and in the hearts of the families you support.

Stay tuned to our social media pages for updates from the awards night at Windsor Racecourse!
