Guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
We’re delighted to be launching a brand-new Singing for the Mind group in Haslemere. Join our fantastic Jo for a joyful afternoon of singing along to much-loved classics and a few more modern favourites too. We’ll even start with a friendly cuppa to warm up your voice before you sing your heart out.
Music and singing in particular has been shown to stimulate brain activity and can play a valuable role in supporting people to live well with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society highlights the powerful impact music can have, including its ability to spark emotions and memories, encourage connection, lift mood, reduce stress, and create positive, engaging interactions. Remarkably, musical appreciation and the ability to sing are often among the last skills to be affected by dementia.
Our community groups reinforce social connection and well-being, with a special focus on those living with dementia.
