Here at Right at Home, we’re in awe of the inspirational women from across our network. From Franchise Owners to CareGivers, the women in our teams work tirelessly to make a positive difference and help our Clients live independently in the comfort of their own homes.
This International Women’s Day, we have been shining a spotlight on a few of the amazing individuals across our homecare network who, at all stages of their careers, have been recognised for their exceptional talents and dedication to their profession:
Lucy Campbell - Right at Home UK CEO
Since starting as a Senior Business Performance Manager just seven years ago, Lucy’s career has gone from strength to strength. The speed at which she has progressed through the ranks reflects her determination to drive the business forward. Now, as Right at Home’s CEO, she is unerringly positive about the future and is leadingthe network towards some exciting and ambitious goals.
Under Lucy’s leadership, the Right at Home network secured over 40 awards in 2022, and the year saw her receive some fantastic personalaccolades too.
After working tirelessly to address some of the challenges facing the social care sector, Lucy won Leaders in Care’s Business Executive of the Year and secured a place on Homecare Insight’s Power List as Voice of the Sector.
She also claimed her third consecutive title of EWiF Woman Franchisor of the Year, and was Highly Commended in the ‘Women Achieving Greatness’ Awards - quite a year, for her first 12 months as CEO!
Lucy continues to drive positive change across the entire sector and is passionate about supporting women across our network to achieve their potential. She said: “I have the absolute privilege of working with so many amazing women in social care. Women make up 82% of our incredible workforce so it’s really important to me that we shine a light on their achievements and celebrate their contributions. I see these award wins as wins for the whole Right at Home network and I hope they encourage more people, particularly women, to embrace a career in social care and help them understand the many benefits it can bring.”

Julie Houston - Right at Home North Cheshire and Leigh Managing Director
Julie set up Right at Home’s North Cheshire and Leigh franchise in 2016, after searching for care for a family member and realising she could make a positive difference in her community. The last 12 months have brought many headaches for Julie and her team, with Covid and recruitment shortages creating ongoing staffing challenges, but she approached these issues with typical calm determination and went on to achieve a number of impressive achievements in a tough operational environment..
It is because of Julie’s commitment and dedication that Right at Home North Cheshire and Leigh secured the Overall Business of the Year award at our 2022 Celebration Awards. Julie also secured a personal accolade for her commitment to franchising and social care when she was crowned What Franchise’s Franchisee of the Year 2022!
Julie said:
“It’s strange to me that in a sector so female-dominated, a lot of the senior leaders and business owners are predominantly male. I’m really passionate about developing the women in my team and supporting them to become leaders of the future. So to be recognised for our achievements in social care is really important to me and I’m glad I have been able to share these experiences with the team.”
Sara Woodley - Right at Home Guildford & Farnham, Alton and Borden and Twickenham Director of Care
Sara has been with Right at Home Guildford & Farnham for over a decade and she has most recently been promoted to Director of Care for Right at Home Alton and Bordon and Right at Home Twickenham. She truly lives the values of the business and works tirelessly to uphold each office’s CQC rating and fantastic reputation in the local area. Sara has also been instrumental in achieving exceptional Client and CareGiver scores in the annual WorkBuzz survey and helping Managing Director Alistair grow their territory.
In 2022, Sara was recognised as Right at Home’s Registered Manager of the Year at our Celebration Awards, and she also picked up the Registered Manager Award at the Surrey Care Awards. We’re delighted that her dedication to the business - and the incredible impact that has on her staff and Clients - has been recognised both within the network and in her local community.
Right at Home’s Director of Quality & Compliance, Simon Osborne, said: Sara demonstrates on a daily basis that her personal and professional values align perfectly with those of Right at Home and, having worked closely with her for the last three years, I can say with absolute certainty that she demonstrates the consistent application of such strongly ethical and professional values each and every day.”
One of Sara’s team, meanwhile, says simply: “She is like family to me.”

Finlay Murphy - Right at Home Cardiff & Newport CareGiver
When it comes to working in care, some people are naturals and Finlay’s team quickly realised she was one of them.
She was completely new to the social care sector when she joined the Right at Home Cardiff & Newport team in 2020. But her passion for going above and beyond to help her Clients quickly became evident.
One example of this was learning how much a companionship Client, Maisie, loved birds, from their trips to feed ducks at a local lake. Learning that in her youth Maisie once raised a fledgling owl, Finlay nominated her as a recipient in our Tin Full of Wishes campaign and enabled Maisie to have an amazing and memorable experience, flying owls at the British Birds of Prey Centre.
Finlay also built fantastic relationships with her colleagues, who describe her as “the perfect advocate for people working in the sector.”
When an opportunity arose to recognise her efforts, the team gave 23-year-old Finlay a nomination of her own, which saw her crowned ‘Newcomer of The Year’ at the Great British Care Awards.
Finlay said: “It meant a lot to me! I felt overwhelmed when I won as there were so many deserving finalists. I love working in care so this award was like the cherry on the cake!”
