Meet Helen, one of our dedicated Live-in Carers, who shows just how rewarding life as a Live-in Carer can be. She always looks for ways to make everyday life more enjoyable, planning activities around the interests and abilities of the people she supports. Whether it is cooking, baking, arts and crafts or simply spending time together, she understands that these moments can make a real difference.
She also goes the extra mile when it comes to special occasions. On Valentine's Day, she bought matching red pyjamas for a bed-bound Client, making sure they could still feel included and celebrated. Even after time away, she often returns with thoughtful treats, showing just how much she thinks about the people she supports.
It is these little things that make live-in care so personal. She is not just there to complete tasks; she builds relationships, creates memories and helps people continue enjoying the things that matter to them.

Going the Extra Mile for Clients and Families
Helen understands that being a Live-in Carer can also mean supporting the wider family. Alongside providing care, she is always happy to help with practical jobs, such as collecting parcels or running errands, helping take some pressure off loved ones. She knows that these acts of support can make a big difference, giving families more time to focus on being there for their loved one rather than worrying about everyday tasks.
Her compassion is especially important when supporting someone through palliative or end-of-life care. During these times, she provides comfort, reassurance and dignity, while giving families peace of mind that their loved one is in safe hands.
She knows that these can be incredibly difficult times, and being a calm, familiar and supportive presence can bring real comfort to both the Client and those closest to them.
