What are the benefits of homecare?

Flexibility

Recruiting a high-quality homecare provider means that you will receive personalised care services at a time that suits you. Your care package will be tailored to your individual needs and goals, and will work around both yours and your family’s lives.

Consistency

Opting to remain in your own home also allows you to maintain important relationships with those around you. Receiving care is a big change, so staying in your own home where you feel safe is important.

Peace of mind

Seeing the same Caregiver(s) on each visit allows our Clients and Carers to build lasting relationships. A regular, trusted team can pick up on any small changes in our Clients’ health or behaviour, before these changes become potentially bigger problems.

Do I need homecare? Or should I consider other types of care?

It’s important to consider all available care options before you pursue a homecare agreement. Browse our services to learn more about the different types of homecare available. Alternatively, you may want to consider other types of care, beyond the home.

When reviewing different types of care, think about the level of independence that would suit you, and - importantly - what budget you have available.

  • Homecare: allowing you to stay in the familiar surroundings of your home, homecare is the most flexible option available for people who need extra support.
  • Care homes: also known as residential care, care homes are a viable option for those who require round-the-clock care.
  • Nursing Homes: like care homes, nursing homes also provide 24-hour care. The difference is that nursing homes are run by Registered Nurses who are supported by Care Assistants.
  • Assisted Living: also known as ‘extra-care housing’, assisted living facilities see people residing in a self-contained flat, with staff on-hand to provide personal care and support services.
  • Sheltered Housing: similar to assisted living, there is usually a minimum age requirement for sheltered housing. Generally, meals and personal care services are not provided, so you may consider additional homecare services as well.

Each care option comes with varying costs and prerequisites. We offer more details about different types of care and the relevant funding options for each in our eBook.
