The fundraising has enabled hundreds of families to access dementia-inclusive breaks

We are thrilled to share the substantial impact of our partnership with Dementia Adventure on local communities across the UK over the last year.
Together, our UK network of 80+ franchise offices has raised over £24,000 for the charity, which supports people living with dementia and their carers to connect with the great outdoors through holidays and excursions.
Our fundraising efforts have already enabled more than 350 people to take an adventure break with their loved ones or enjoy a dementia-inclusive day out, supported by trained volunteers.
Fundraising highlights
The charity partnership was launched in April 2025, with Right at Home pledging to support Dementia Adventure through national campaigns and community engagement initiatives over the next three years.
Since then, we have gone the extra mile to enable those living with dementia and their carers to connect with the great outdoors, regardless of financial and social barriers.
At Right at Home Ashby, Burton & Uttoxeter, Deputy Manager Karen Lloyd and her daughter Ri, a Carer for the team, took to the skies for a tandem parachute jump, raising £3,000.
Meanwhile in Guildford & Farnham, Owner Alastair Shanks and his team of care professionals completed a firewalk, also raising £3,000.
And at Right at Home UK’s annual charity golf day, held at Sandwell Park in Bromwich last summer, more than £6,000 was raised, with golfing experiences sold at auction.
Over a nine-month period, the network generated £24,932 in support of Dementia Adventure.
Commenting on the achievement, Right at Home UK CEO Lucy Campbell said: “Our partnership with Dementia Adventure has got off to an amazing start, with franchise teams across the network going above and beyond to support the charity over the last year.
“Their incredible efforts have already enabled hundreds of people affected by dementia to enjoy essential escapes and create treasured memories with their loved ones.
“We’re excited to build upon this positive impact in 2026, through the many exciting projects we have planned with Dementia Adventure."
Real impact of our fundraising
In 2025 alone, the money raised by Right at Home UK for Dementia Adventure enabled 226 people living with dementia and their carers to go on a five-day adventure break and create new memories together.
Meanwhile, 140 people attended the charity’s dementia-inclusive day excursions across seven dates, including cricket days at Lords, guided golf days and garden outings.
Susie Cery, Head of Corporate Partnership Support and Communications at Dementia Adventure, said: “We’re so grateful for our partnership with Right at Home UK.
“The funds raised are already helping us continue and expand our online carer support, contribute towards much-needed supported breaks for people living with dementia and their 24/7 caregivers, and deliver more of our special days out, our Green Letter Days, that help people build confidence and enjoy time outdoors together.
“What’s made this partnership so special is the shared values, Right at Home’s people-first approach and our focus on the positives, supporting people to do more of what they can, rather than being defined by what they can’t. We’re really looking forward to partnering even more closely in 2026 and reaching even more people affected by dementia.”
Big Green Picnic
For Right at Home’s network of franchise offices, the collaboration with Dementia Adventure has also created opportunities to give back to those they support, their families and neighbours through moments of joy and connection.
Last year saw the launch of the Big Green Picnic, a nationwide campaign supporting local offices to host dementia-inclusive outdoor events throughout the summer.
The initiative was piloted by Right at Home Stevenage, Bishop’s Stortford & Braintree, which hosted an afternoon of sensory activities, live music and flower arranging.
This was followed by garden gatherings, beach barbecues and community picnics from Cheshire to Bournemouth, bringing people together in relaxed, supportive environments.
Christopher Neal, Owner of Right at Home Stevenage, Bhishop's Stortford & Braintree said: “The picnic was a fantastic success, thanks to the incredible support from Dementia Adventure, Meadowbrook Care Home, and all the local groups who came together to make the day special. It couldn’t have been better.”
