On Wednesday 13 October 2021, award-winning homecare provider Right at Home scooped two new accolades at the Leaders in Care Awards. Despite such fierce competition, Right at Home were triumphant and made the 70-strong franchise network proud.

Stacey Gentle from Right at Home Stockport & Didsbury was crowned Registered Manager of the Year whilst Right at Home Guildford & Farnham, which is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, picked up the Home Care Business Initiative of the Year Award.

Each year some of the biggest names in the social care industry attend the Leaders in Care Awards with high hopes of being crowned winners. This year, attendees descended on the National Conference Centre in Birmingham for a night to remember. Across five homecare specific categories, the awards shine a spotlight on providers who have showcased the skill, dedication, investment and innovation that goes into providing quality, person-centred care. Of the five homecare awards up for grabs, Right at Home were named finalists in four categories. Right at Home UK’s Chief Operating Officer Lucy Campbell was shortlisted for the Executive of the Year Award, and Right at Home Guildford & Farnham’s Mircea Crisen was a finalist in the Frontline Carer of the Year category.

These latest accolades are a further testament to Right at Home’s commitment to going the extra mile for their Clients, loved ones and the communities they operate in. Speaking on the Leaders in Care Award wins, Right at Home UK’s CEO, Ken Deary, said:

“These are fantastic achievements and great recognition for the Right at Home network. As reflected in these award wins, we are absolutely committed to going the extra mile for our Clients, whether that be through the homecare services we provide or through programmes such as Friends for Right at Home.

“A massive congratulations to Stacey from Right at Home Stockport & Didsbury and Alastair and the team at Right at Home Guildford & Farnham on these tremendous achievements.’’

When it came to selecting the winner for the prestigious Registered Manager of the Year Award, the Leaders in Care judging panel were impressed by Stacey’s empowering approach to both Clients and staff. In just 12 months, Stacey has guided the Right at Home Stockport & Didsbury office from averaging 600 hours of care per week to a massive 1,100 hours per week.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Right at Home Guildford & Farnham identified a need for additional support for vulnerable people in the community, and so Friends of Right at Home was born. The voluntary service quickly took off, recruiting 176 volunteers in the first few weeks. The Friends of Right at Home scheme supported over 130 people per week with shopping and offered phone companionship to 36 people. At Christmas 2020, Friends of Right at Home delivered a portion of their own home-cooked Christmas meals to 108 people who were vulnerable and isolated on Christmas Day.

Right at Home celebrates and recognises the hard work and achievements of each of their local offices. The national homecare provider recently held its annual Celebration Awards, where it recognised CareGivers, Registered Managers and Franchise Owners who are committed to going the extra mile for their Clients.
