A new video from Outstanding-rated home care provider Right at Home GF shows how having quality home care for yourself or your loved one is not about admitting defeat but about starting a new chapter in life.

Alastair Shanks, the Managing Director of Right at Home GF explains more: “When we set about making this video, we invited our clients and their families to tell in their own words how taking the first step to having care in their home was the first step to feeling safe and getting back the freedom to do the things they enjoy.

“In the video, our clients talk about how receiving a little – or a lot – of support from a Right at Home CareGiver enables them to go out shopping, enjoy hobbies, stay healthy and safe at home and feel the benefit of companionship. You meet some of our staff in the video too.”

The video provides a reassuring introduction to the idea of trying out home care and, over the duration of just a few minutes, talks about the range of care that Right at Home GF offers, how the quality of its services sets it apart from other care agencies and some of the benefits clients and families have experienced from their CareGivers.

For family members, who may be providing care themselves, having a CareGiver in their loved one’s life can mean a return to a better relationship with them: “In the video, we hear from Pauline who encouraged her mum to receive care at home a few years ago after a series of hospital stays,” says Alastair. “Pauline says that not only has Right at Home helped her mum, Ena, get her life back, it has taken her own relationship with Ena back to how it was when Ena was more able. Pauline is able to enjoy mother-daughter leisure time with Ena rather than being her carer, reassured that she is receiving excellent care from Right at Home when she needs it.”

Right at Home’s flexible approach means that Ena can reduce or increase the amount and type of care she receives when she needs to.

Clients and families are sometimes unsure about taking the step to receiving formal care or how to go about finding the right provider. The video gives an understanding of what quality home care looks like, it’s flexibility and how to give it a try.
