Experience what it’s like to live with dementia

This Dementia Action Week (19-25 May), Right at Home GF is inviting local carers and members of the community to take part in an immersive dementia experience.
To simulate the physical and sensory challenges faced by people living with dementia, participants will wear vision-distorting goggles, weighted clothing, and headphones playing background noise. They’ll get to attempt everyday tasks like making a bed and laying a table so as to gain first-hand insight into how dementia affects daily life.
Dementia Lead Adriana Mendonca says the goal is to build understanding and a more dementia-aware community. The experience will take place on 22 May from 1-3pm at The White Barn, Runfold St George, Farnham, GU10 1PL. No booking is required and everybody is welcome.
