Managing Director features on brand new power list for the homecare sector

Alastair Shanks, Managing Director of Right at Home GF is featured on a new power list of innovators and influencers in the homecare sector.

Homecare Insight, a news and insight resource for professionals in the homecare sector, announced its list of around 30 professionals who have demonstrated a mission to drive positive change through constantly pushing for quality improvements and providing fulfilling job opportunities.

“I’m overwhelmed to be included on this list. For me, it represents a stamp of approval from the home care sector on what my team and I have been doing for clients and our staff over the past few years,” says Mr Shanks, who directs Right at Home branches in Guildford and Farnham, Alton and Bordon, and Twickenham and Richmond.

The selection panel included Mr Shanks on the power list due to his innovative response to the changing needs of homecare during the COVID pandemic, his drive to create a skilled and well resourced workforce and implementing numerous ideas to support clients and develop employees.

“Homecare Insight was impressed by our programme of dementia and wellbeing support such as our popular Sunflower Cafes, Inclusive Cricket and Love to Move. They also highlighted how our use of technology – such as our staff wellbeing app and trial of Alertacall – benefits staff, clients and families, as well as the benefit to the community of Right at Home GF’s recruitment of 180 volunteers who helped people in need at the worst of the COVID restrictions.”

Mr Shanks is one of six people on the power list under the category of care innovators. There are three further categories of business executives, quality and compliance champions and those who act as a voice for the industry.
