Local business and award-winning home care provider, Right at Home GF, is celebrating a significant milestone this month, having delivered more than one million hours of care calls to clients across the region which is the equivalent of over 114 years!
Reflecting on the achievement, Managing Director Alastair Shanks said: “Homecare is about enabling people to live as independently as possible, in the place they feel most comfortable – their own home. Since launching in 2012, we’ve been privileged to support thousands of people and their families. From helping someone prepare a meal or remember medication, to providing specialist live-in care and companionship, it’s incredibly rewarding to know we’ve made a difference to so many lives.”
Right at Home GF has built a strong reputation for living its values which are trust, quality, compassion and respect. The team is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, holds Silver accreditation from Investors in People, and has received numerous industry awards recognising its commitment to excellence in care, staff development, and community involvement.
“This achievement is a testament to our incredible caregivers and office team,” Mr Shanks continued. “Their dedication, professionalism and compassion have enabled us to deliver a high level of support and to grow. Thirteen years ago, I would never have believed that we’d get to the point where we have four franchises, employ around 150 people and have been responsible for one-million hours of care calls. It simply couldn’t have done without the support of a fantastic team. I am very proud.”
Right at Home GF together with the Alton & Bordon, Twickenham & Richmond and Camberley & Woking branches support clients of all ages and care needs - including people recovering from surgery, individuals with dementia and other long-term health conditions, and older adults seeking companionship or practical help to remain at home for longer.
Beyond its care services, the organisation is also known for its strong community engagement. Regular events such as the Sunflower Café, Singing for the Mind, Love to Move and Inclusive Cricket offer ongoing support and social connection for older members of the community.
Looking ahead, Mr Shanks said: “We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we know the need for high-quality home care is growing. We remain committed to supporting more families, building on our strong foundations, and continuing to attract and retain the best people to our team. We want to help even more people live safely and well at home for as long as possible.”
